Instructions

Prepare the Strawberries

  • Wash and thoroughly dry Strawberries.
  • Optional: if you want to create strawberries without a flat side, stick toothpicks in the center of the stem of the strawberry. Stick the toothpick with the Strawberries in the Styrofoam board to hold for dipping.

Melt the Chocolate

  • Place Semi-sweet Chocolate in larger Mixing Bowl. Place White Chocolate in smaller Mixing Bowl.
  • Add 1 teaspoon Vegetable Oil to each Mixing Bowl.

Melt Chocolate using one of the following methods:

  • Method #1 (Microwave): In Microwavable bowl, microwave chocolate (one bowl at a time) at 50% power for 15 seconds. Stir. Continue to microwave at 50% power, checking and stirring every 15-seconds until Chocolate is smooth and melted. Repeat with other bowl.
  • Method #2 (Double Boiler): Place Chocolate in Heat Resistant Bowl. Bring small Pot with about 1 inch of water (make sure it doesn’t touch the bowl) to a simmer.  Place one Mixing Bowl on Small Pot. Stir Chocolate until smooth. Repeat with other Bowl of Chocolate.  (Note: Be Careful.  Bowl of Chocolate may be hot!)
  • If decorating with melted chocolate, fill pastry bags with ¼ cup of melted chocolate and snip of the very tip of the bag. (Note: a resealable bag can be used if you don’t have pastry bags.

Dip the Strawberries

  • Tilt bowl and dip and roll Strawberries in the melted Chocolate until completely covered. Let excess chocolate drip off.

Decorate the Strawberries

  • To create chocolate drizzle effect, drizzle chocolate in the pastry bag quickly back and forth over the strawberry. Place back in the Styrofoam board to cool.
  • You can also dip in Chopped Nuts, Mini Chocolate Chips or sprinkle with Instant Coffee/Espresso.
  • Let dipped Strawberries cool in refrigerator for about 15 minutes or until the Chocolate has hardened.  Remove toothpick and serve.
